Gabrielle
Union; Biography of a Star
Gabrielle
Union, born Gabrielle Monique Union, is an American
superstar actress and the first African American,
actually, the first actress to be selected as
a Hot Female. We have many reasons for picking
Gabrielle Union; she has been, in our opinion,
the most consistent African American actress in
the past few years, after Halle Berry. She is
beautiful, she is sexy and she is one of the most
talented and hard working actresses in Hollywood
today.
Her
life has been a rollercoaster ride it seems. She
was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 29, 1972,
but she grew up in Pleasanton, California, where
she moved with her parents at the age of 8. There
she went to Foothill High School in California,
where she played soccer, basketball and did track
and field. In high school, she also dated basketball
superstar Jason Kidd.
In
1992, Gabrielle Union was assaulted and rapped
by a man with a gun after her shift ended at the
mall where she worked. We hear that her attacker
was able to get away, but he eventually turned
himself in after rapping another woman. Gabrielle
has stated that she would be there the day his
was eligible for parole to make sure he was not
able to get out of jail early.
In
2000, she was featured in the comedy Bring it
On, which was not only a hit in the box office,
but also a hit among the younger crowd. She gained
a lot of fame and exposure after that role. This
has helped her appear in many great box office
hits. She played a role in the movie "Love
and Basketball" also in "Two can play
that game" and in "Cradle 2 the Grave".
Her more important roles followed, she got the
staring role in the romantic comedy "Deliver
us from Eva" and got a leading role in the
blockbuster hit "Bad Boys II" staring
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
In
2006, Gabrielle Union has been heavily criticized
for her involvement in the independent movie "Neo
Ned". A movie where Gabrielle Union is a
mental patient having an interracial romantic
relationship with a white man who happens to be
neo Nazi. This situation has stirred controversy
and people have labeled her sell out for this
role. It was a movie about prejudice, hate and
racism; I guess it needed to be addressed seeing
the reaction the movie got from the community.
Our
opinion is, Gabrielle Union is intelligent, she's
sexy and she's one of the best actresses in America
right now; at least one of the most underated.
We felt we had to feature her, and we hope you
enjoy the new Gabrielle-Union.info.
